EDUCATION & TRAINING
Jess is a native of NC and attended Appalachian State where she met her husband Adam, together they have three children. She received a BS in Sociology from Appalachian State University in 2006.  Then moved to TX and  completed an MA in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2009.  Her training in graduate school emphasized the integration of Biblical principles, counseling, and psychology. She is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a member of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies. She holds a TeleMental Health Training Certificate (THTC) from the Telehealth Certification Institute, LLC.

EXPERIENCE
While in school she interned with ReEngage a ministry developed by Watermark Community Church which focuses on the improvement and transformation of marriages at any stage in their relational health. Upon coming back to NC Jess worked with Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care where she provided end of life counseling to the patients under the care of Hospice as well as grief counseling for bereaved family members and community. She then worked with Cornerstone Counseling Center in Hickory, NC where she transitioned to working with women of all ages and a large number of teens and young adults. While there, she provided counseling and neurofeedback with her clientele and also helped with assessments for children entering kindergarten. Since 2015 she has worked with Family Life Coach in Asheville, NC, which eventually became Summit Wellness Centers in 2018. Jessica began Christian Mom Counseling in 2020.

As a ministry wife and working mother, Jess understands how difficult it can be to prioritize the many demands. Her hope is to provide hope, help and healing to other mothers out there.
